“Chicago born, but Detroit Made" best describes Chef Petro Drakopoulos. With a career that started in Chicago with small stops through the greater U.S.; he came to Detroit in 2011. After working for large hospitality companies such as Marriott and most recently Texas de Brazil, he opened Republica in Berkley, Michigan – an approachable representation of modern comfort American.
Most recently Chef Petro became the food and beverage operating partner of midtown Detroit's newest addition to the food and bar scene – Detroit Shipping Company; that houses 6 food concepts. One of which is his collaboration with local businessman Razu Chowdury called Brujo: Tacos and Tapas. A completely halal take on Mexican tacos and Spanish small plates.
