Born and raised in the city of Detroit, Chef McClendon developed a passion for arts and culture, however being born to Georgia natives he
also developed a passion for food culinary arts. At 19, Chris opened his own mom and pop restaurant inside of Wayne County Community College called Macs, in partnership with his father. Chris quickly learned it takes more than just good food to run a business, so he enrolled in Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan where he learned food cost, menu development, and many others skills needed to be successful
in the culinary industry.

Shortly after graduation, he began a career as a professional Chef to many athletes from the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Detroit Lions, and many more. At 33, Chef Chris became Head Chef at his first ground-up restaurant, Savannah Blue, winning Detroit’s Top 10 Award, write-ups in numerous publications, and a loyal following. He will also be releasing a Cookbook entitled The Sexy Breakfast in Fall 2018 while revamping the menu at Savannah Blue. Chris Chef is inspired now more than ever.
